Romklao Botanical Garden Phitsnulok Under HM Queen Sirikit´s Initiative

Background

On 5 March 1999, Her Majesty the Queen Sirikit went toTambol Bor Pak, Amphoe Chat Trakan, Phitsanulok in order to observe the progress of the project regarding the development in the area of Phu Khat, Phu Miang,and Phu Chi Fah. On this occasion, under HM Queen Sirikit’s initiative, the Romklao Plants Collection Center was established at the edge of Phu Soi Dao with the intention to strengthen the national security and conserve the forest. Moreover, the establishment of the Center also provided the people of Romklao with better living standard and better income, as well as became the new tourist attraction of Phitsanulok and Thailand.

  • To investigate and study the collection of plants in hill evergreen forest on Thailand – Laos border
  • To conserve and improve the ecosystem of the hill evergreen forest, mixed deciduous forest, and wild forest
  • To develop and improve the area into the botanical learning center
  • To broadcast and publicize botanical knowledge and create value-addition.
